TZM Together: A Support Group and my experience in the Socio-Economic system

TZM Together: A Support Group and my experience in the Socio-Economic system

Since finding about the Zeitgeist Movement in December 2010, I have undergone some significant changes in my life, especially the worldview aspect and to a lesser extent, lifestyle changes as well. I told my family and friends about TZM and what we advocate, and my friends tended to accept it more than my parents.

A Leaderless Movement

A Leaderless Movement

There is a popular demand within the Zeitgeist Movement: Horizontality, meaning the group's ability to participate in decision making both locally and globally. We all want to participate, and rightly so. From the outset, the movement declared itself as a leaderless one, without hierarchies. So why is it so difficult to achieve this? Isn't the way to go, obvious?

To answer, we need to understand the context of the statements, and define how any movement can function without leaders.

The Defective Day

The Defective Day

Below is a short narrative I wrote for my high school English course shortly before I graduated. I'm hoping to expand on it and impact a large number of people in my community in the form of a story that is easy to understand.

The magnetic lift slowed to a stop atop the slanted glass building. I looked out the window, and watched the entrance gate lock into place with the train. The grey wall unlocked, using the loose magnetic charge from the train to force the wall open.

Resource Based Bus

Resource Based Bus

It was Halloween and everyone going out to the nightclubs was dressed up. I was at the bus stop and I asked a group of seven people waiting there with me why everyone was dressed up in costumes, and they said it was for Halloween of course.

I replied with, "Hallo-what?" They repeated it with a confused expression on their face.

A day in the life of a Resource-Based Economy

A day in the life of a Resource-Based Economy

Scenario 1: You wake up. You make your coffee. You read the paper. You see something that mentions Hawaii. You think "I'd love to go to Hawaii!" So you go online and you make a reservation. It doesn't cost anything, but you have to make it in advance so that you get in the queue.

Imagine: The Case for the Islamic Culture

Imagine: The Case for the Islamic Culture

I write this because I feel it's important, after the recent events being disclosed about the U.S. military continuing to defile the people of the Islamic world, most notably the burning of the Koran by U.S. soldiers.

While We Sleep

While We Sleep

The Zeitgeist Movement, with several hundred thousand members worldwide, is one of the most organized and successful grass roots movements on the planet today. Yet the truth is, until membership reaches numbers at least 2,000 times that and until every individual member is committed to and focused on pursuing one simple common goal, there will never be any real hope of effective change.

The Unrelenting Voice

The Unrelenting Voice

In my short time on this planet so far I have had experiences that many for a lifetime search for - moments of clarity and glimpses of my inner self that one can only describe as intense meditation. With these I came to conclude that deep within myself was something destructive. An invading force that did not belong there and it was growing. No solution I had been given by any person or organization in my life made any sense some even made the invading force within me worse. So I began a search, one that would last for many years and would take me to many different places.

Everything Happens For A Reason

Everything Happens For A Reason

Everything happens for a reason - so they say. Thousands, maybe millions or possibly even billions superstitiously believe that, which they allow to be a leading force in their meaningless lives.

Yes, you heard me right, and before we proceed I encourage you to brace yourself for an adventure into the world of no uneasiness about hurting others’ fragile feelings, though hurting is not my intention.

Infinite Unfolding

Infinite Unfolding

I teach yoga. I decided to take a certification program 6 years ago when an inner voice inspired me to do so. During this yogic journey, life is evolving rapidly for me. At the onset of studying "yoga" I had no idea what this practice even was, aside from a story I read telling about its beginnings and purpose. My yogic path underwent several phases; misunderstanding, egoic desire, confusion, amazement, courage, compassion, and finally empowerment.
