'The First Christmas' campaign is a global project for The Zeitgeist Movement in an attempt to hijack the consumption festival known as ‘Christmas’ via Facebook, and turn it into what it has so far only claimed to be about: Giving to those less fortunate than you.

On Saturday August 4th, the second edition of the Zeitgeist Media Festival was held at the Carlos Martinez Moreno Cultural Center in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Those of us working for social change, although we often have similar goals, tend to forget that there are many people out there who also criticize the current system and propose new ways of living and thinking. Artists, for instance, vividly capture the injustice and inequality of the system we live in, and are able to criticize it in a more creative and provocative way than most can.

Response to The KONY 2012 Phenomenon | TZMUK

Recently, a viral phenomenon flared up as a result of a video campaign entitled ‘Kony 2012′, which encourages the viewer to become passionate about chasing down a man named Joseph Kony, who is apparently involved in gang warfare, rape, severe child abuse, slavery, murder and the like in Uganda and it’s neighboring countries. This is obviously extremely inhumane and abhorrent behavior to say the least.
