Toward the end of the '70s and early '80s I began to be preoccupied with the problem of justice and injustice. I began to realize that there could be no justice in this world with the working people being exploited. They were getting meager earnings while their exploiters were enjoying the benefits of their hard labor.

As an activist doing outreach with the Zeitgeist Movement, I often come across those individuals who believe that the human race is simply incorrigible. The message gets communicated in such responses as, “I’m just waiting for the mushroom cloud,” or “All humans are psychotic,” or “Humans are a virus that needs to be eradicated.” These are actual statements that have been told to me, as if they are the cold hard truth that I must come 'round to submitting to.

On Saturday August 4th, the second edition of the Zeitgeist Media Festival was held at the Carlos Martinez Moreno Cultural Center in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Those of us working for social change, although we often have similar goals, tend to forget that there are many people out there who also criticize the current system and propose new ways of living and thinking. Artists, for instance, vividly capture the injustice and inequality of the system we live in, and are able to criticize it in a more creative and provocative way than most can.

A couple of months ago I had the ambition to create a movie length video promoting TZM. I wanted to have particular emphasis on how insane, stupid and bizarre most "jobs" and social norms are when taken out of the context of our out-dated economic system. It quickly occurred to me that a collaborative approach, not just making a movie but creating an endless stream of videos with a coherent basic framework would be much more efficient.
