The Defective Day

The Defective Day

Below is a short narrative I wrote for my high school English course shortly before I graduated. I'm hoping to expand on it and impact a large number of people in my community in the form of a story that is easy to understand.

The magnetic lift slowed to a stop atop the slanted glass building. I looked out the window, and watched the entrance gate lock into place with the train. The grey wall unlocked, using the loose magnetic charge from the train to force the wall open.

American Technology: Physical and Intellectual Isolation's End

The era of the 1860s through the 20th century was full of political drama, warfare, violence surrounding civil rights and economic problems. Despite all of these pitfalls, America still had times of prosperity and hope. Occupying World Psychosis
In my refresher studies regarding the roots of property rights, I've rediscovered the origin of religion, which is "the worship of the dead." All cultures have developed special rituals and celebratory events over time that surround life (birth), (birthdays), marriage or mergers and death (death). It makes sense only because most of us create close connections with people, places or things and experience a sense of loss when that relationship looks to be diminishing or is about to die.

Attaining Intellectual Wealth vs. Hoarding Material Possessions

In this frenzied world we live in, where society is in a mad pursuit for wealth, it would do humanity a world of good if we slowed down a bit in order to realize the impact that this pursuit is having on us, on all that is living, on our planet, our home. On a very small scale, it is almost analogous to a television series I was watching with a good friend of mine, Hoarders. Here we have individuals, affected by a condition of perplexity and bewilderment to the extent that they cannot comprehend how their hoarding is affecting the living conditions in their home.
