Universal Basic Income: The trojan horse

Universal Basic Income: The trojan horse

I should have written this article about 6 months ago, when I finished my thesis on a Resource Based Economy, but this could not be a better occasion. Due to various circumstances, we find a key to the expansion of an idea whose time has come now. Unlink employment, in the minds of people, from the right to exist.

CALL TO ALL DEVELOPERS, ARTISTS, AND CONTENT CREATORS

“The position of the artist if humble. He is essentially a channel.” - Piet Mondrian

On August 20th, 2013 I released to the public a fully functioning prototype for a project that I’ve been developing for nearly 5 years. I believe this project could greatly benefit from constructive feedback and assistance, so therefore I am addressing the only group I am aware of that is overall, the most likeminded to my values: The Zeitgeist Movement.

BASIC INCOME: A new universal right?

BASIC INCOME: A new universal right?

As a brief intro and due to the first responses on the original Spanish post on my blog I want to clarify that I do think the Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a good idea; however, I think that if we emphasize one single approach, I would not choose this one, and what follows is why. Nevertheless the intention here is to start a dialog on the proposals and how we can expand on them.

Forget the Class War, How to Win the Fight Against the Elite

Forget the Class War, How to Win the Fight Against the Elite

While we all need to get angry before anything can change, anger will only get us so far. For anger may inspire action, but it won't fix anything.

Recently I've heard calls for a "class war". What strikes me most about this suggestion is the sheer stupidity behind it.

First of all, despite greater numbers, what chance does a mob of working class people have against a heavily armed, well trained military industrial complex?

A Resource Based Economy - the Beginning

A Resource Based Economy - the Beginning

- by Dror Hilman -
In a world of accelerated and unexpected development, we should start to separate from the models that dominated society over the past century, and get ready for a dramatic change. What will the new paradigm look like? It is impossible to predict exactly. But here are some changes borne on the wings of the new technological revolution, signaling to us what the transition period might look like. An era where money and politics are still important, but less so..

Quantum Leap In Transportation!

Quantum Leap In Transportation!

YOUR PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED! (Please) :)

You're all familiar with this technology from Zeitgeist Addendum! Now you can be a part of making this a reality! We often hear people asking about how the transition will be. Well folks, this is the beginning of that transition. The Internet was really the catalyst for bringing humanity closer to the realization that we are all one. Evacuated Tube Transport will eventually change that virtual community to a tangible way to get to any part of the planet in less than six hours.

How Can We Get There?

How Can We Get There?

Often, when engaging the public on the subject of TZM and a post-scarcity society, I am asked a question like "How do we get there?" in the sense of what methods can we use to gain support and move society into a new zeitgeist, or how can we collect the resources necessary to build a new infrastructure?

Thoughts on the inevitable transition period--and ideas that are threatening it

The financial crisis becoming known as the Great Recession is an interesting one for many reasons. One of its most compelling aspects is the tendency to highlight the absurdity of capitalist systems, or indeed, any monetary system. Things like bureaucracy, law, and money have usurped moral words that once had a great deal of spiritual meaning; words like freedom, liberty, justice, rights, and criminal. Criminals, for instance, are thought of as a very specific group of people who share the common characteristic of somehow betraying their community.

Moving Even More Forward: Addendum (or, how I learned to relax and love the change)

Having finished watching "Gasland" (on YouTube, not mega upload, thank you very much) an hour ago, I feel really sick to my stomach. I would like to apologize again for working in the oil and gas industry. The last job I had was preparing a refinery to accept natural gas piped in from Marselis, Pennsylvania so that they could convert it (ethane) into ethylene, which they then polymerized (I think) into poly-ethylene, or plastic. This is where it comes from.
