Live, Love, Create!

Live, Love, Create!

Since I first discovered the Zeitgeist Movement a few years ago, I immediately started trying to think of ways in which I might contribute something positive and promote awareness of these ideas. I had to ask myself exactly what I had to offer in the context of such a large and diverse global community. I just kept coming up short. Yes, I do have some talents and abilities that might be useful, but translating them into something palatable and useful proved to be an uphill battle.

Beats for change

Beats for change

After a really long night working at the hospital I headed towards home, slept a couple of hours and caught everything I needed for the event we had been preparing for in the last weeks... I checked the videos for the last time and drove to 'Teatro México' which is the best acoustically designed stage in the city, one of the most representatives venues in the Town and certainly a very beautiful place to visit, even if you do it virtually.

Why We Should Develop a Strategy for Online Activism

Why We Should Develop a Strategy for Online Activism

In the last few months, I've had concern about the growth and direction of both my chapter (Sacramento/Davis) and Zeitgeist Movement as a whole. I often feel as though we're not growing and expanding at the pace we should, and I'm not sure if we're engaging people enough on a mass level around the ideas and objectives of the movement.

Finally, A Transition Plan towards a Resource Based Economy: The 4-Hour Work-day

When explaining what a Resource Based Economy is and how it would help society and the planet to live a better life, one of the most asked questions by the audience or public in general is the one about transition. If we manage to convince the audience that the Resource Based Economy model is the way to go, we will get questions like: “Ok, it sounds great but......how do we get there?”

We've All Got Religion

We've All Got Religion

Several discussions of religion take place here and in other mediums across the movement. Some maintain that religion is incompatible with the concept of a “Resource Based” economic model. Others feel that religion and religious belief will simply take on other less organized and personal forms as the bulk of the population becomes more educated and less subject to indoctrination. It seems to me to be more important to reduce the question to its lowest terms, and to look at the tendency to become rigid and unwavering in ANY belief as the root of the issue.

Educating Education

Educating Education

When we look at the concept of education through the lens of Nurture, Equality, Truth and Systems, we immediately notice that the word “education” itself generally refers to formal processes and institutions that deliver teacher-driven content from preschool through higher education.

WHAT ON EARTH ARE WE DOING?

WHAT ON EARTH ARE WE DOING?

A couple of months ago I had the ambition to create a movie length video promoting TZM. I wanted to have particular emphasis on how insane, stupid and bizarre most "jobs" and social norms are when taken out of the context of our out-dated economic system. It quickly occurred to me that a collaborative approach, not just making a movie but creating an endless stream of videos with a coherent basic framework would be much more efficient.

Project Earth: the Game - A Concept

The following is a conceptual description of a Project Earth simulation game inspired by the Project Earth segment from the film, Zeitgeist: Moving Forward.

The Player

Upon starting the simulation for the first time, the player is assigned an area of land on which to cultivate a Resource-Based Economic city.

The Zeitgeist Movement
Without money, we'd all be rich

To anyone thinking outside of the tunnel-vision of just themselves and their own survival, the atmosphere of change is electric. We've never in the history of our lives seen such a peak of global dissent and such an outpouring of citizenry coming together - a reaction against the growing elephant in the room: the inequality and unfairness of our social system.
