Trying to maintain an increasingly obsolete monetary system is hamstringing society. Rapidly accelerating applications of technology are driving big changes. Traditional forms of labor are becoming obsolete, while the shifting dynamics created by technological innovations open new creative possibilities daily. Technological unemployment ensures that many jobs will continue to disappear.

Well, after writing my first blog “Election 2012 – Shift the Paradigm” on the tzmnetwork and TZM Blog, posting my poll “Who thinks challenging the political structure during this upcoming election is necessary/could be an opportune chance to effect change and engage the planet on a mass scale?”, and reading many other excellent blogs/polls/questions – it is clear many of us are ready to do some things now to effect change and work with others who generally agree with the train of thought.

The conversation turned to the expensive shirt that Ann Romney wore, and how people felt about it.

When I think about the world, and how we interact with it, I often wonder not just at the surface assumptions, prejudices, rallying cries, slogans, mottos, and platitudes (eg., We Are the 99%, Mo' Money Mo' Power, The Audacity of Hope), but on the underlying ideas that support them. Now, don't get me wrong, a clever quip or inspiring phrase delivered at the right moment can be inspiring to a supporter, or devastating to an opponent, but what any great and powerful social movement is really made up of is presuppositions.
