Moving Hemp Forward (or so you've watched another movie...)

Hemp. Hemp hemp. Hempitty hempty hemp hemp hemp. HEEEEEEEEEMMMP!!!!!HEMP!!! Hemp.... So I watched a movie online the other day from like 1994 titled "The Hemp Revolution" and when it was over I actually threw up in my mouth a little bit (okay that's a lie )... Ironically, I put this movie on to act as ambient noise while I sat in a chair and recycled old mail which I had never even opened.... This movie is a real think piece. I literally took a break from writing this article to watch it a second time, and I'm glad I did....

While I was vaguely familiar with hemp and its uses before, I had no idea just how deep hemp's roots in history ran....Or just how versatile it is... IT HAD NEVER OCCURRED TO ME THAT HEMP IS 100% SUSTAINABLE!!!!!! This plant is another prime example of the atrocities committed by the corporatocracy that we call contemporary society...

Imagine that... Big corporations would rather sell you fertilizer and pesticides for cotton than to let you use a different product that doesn't need any…even if it's a better product.

Imagine that... Big corporations would rather sell you low-quality paper treated with chemicals they produce than give you access to high-quality papers which don't need any chemicals... Huh? Go figure....

Big corporations would rather sell nylon rope made from oil than hemp rope... Really? Who knew?

You mean I can use hemp for bio-diesel and ethanol production? I can use it to produce bio-mass fuel for a pellet stove to heat my home? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?

Hemp has almost completely been erased from the history books. No mention of it is made in either of the national museums of agriculture or textiles... The constitution was written on Hemp. Denim was originally spun with hemp fibers from recycled hemp sails...

It is time for "We The Consumer" to vote. SAY NO TO COTTON!.... D.A.R.E. TO KEEP KIDS OFF PESTICIDES!... There aren't any products being commercially grown right now which require more fertilizers or pesticides than cotton. From start to finish, they spray cotton constantly... Cotton accounts for approximately 50% of the pesticides used in agriculture...

In one of my earlier articles I made a passing mention of hemp but didn't make any points on it whatsoever... I had no idea that this stuff will grow basically anywhere.... People use it heavily in Tibet and Nepal because it's the only thing they can get to grow, plus it's good for everything....Hemp was successfully outlawed there in the 90s, but it created such an uprising they decriminalized it again....

I know hemp goods are readily available in Canada, but I have no idea about other countries. I have to assume they are available elsewhere too though, through one outlet or another...
